You can download an application online or obtain one in person at the Human Resources Office in Village Hall, Room 217, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9AM and 4PM. Please keep in mind that the majority of our full-time job titles require certification through written examination.

The Village of Freeport adopted a local law pertaining to the residency of its employees. Under this law, (Section 42 of the Code of Ordinances), every person hired by the Village must either be a current resident of the Village or become a resident of the Village within six (6) months of successfully passing their probationary period. Job titles excluded from the residency law are: Lifeguard

a) Proof of residency will be needed at the time of application submittal. Acceptable forms of identification include one piece of postmarked mail with your address listed (such as a bill or statement), or a current lease. A Driver's License is not considered valid proof of residency. b) If you are an exempt fireman, please bring with you your certificate (copies are acceptable). c) Also, please bring with you a blue or black ink pen.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

A resume is always a great thing to have when applying for any job. If you have a resume, please bring it with you when applying in person or attach it to your printed online application. When completing the application, please make sure to fill in as much information as possible, and write clearly. Your application is a reflection of you. Please be prepared to provide recommendations from previous employers.
