The Village of Freeport respects the rights of all individuals to peacefully protest within the Village of Freeport, be safe while protesting, and also protect motorists who are using our roadways. Therefore, with the involvement of the Nassau County Police Department with the protests, the County is the lead agency. As such, effective immediately, all protest organizers must contact the Nassau County Police Department at 516-573-7360 and the Freeport Police Department at 516-377-2411 twenty-four (24) hours before any scheduled protest, provide the route, obey all traffic rules, and adhere to the County’s Free Speech Protection Roadway Protocol. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
