The Purchasing Department is committed to serving the community in an efficient and professional manner.

Purchases made by the Village of Freeport are subject to New York State Municipal bidding law and the adopted Procurement Policy of the village.

The Purchasing Department is responsible for:

  • Processing claims and requisitions
  • Receiving reports and purchase orders
  • Processing and reading all village bids

All bids are opened publicly and read aloud in the second-floor conference room at Village Hall at specified times and on specified dates. All vendors are welcome and encouraged to attend bid openings. Information about public bids also may be obtained after opening by submitting a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request. FOIL requests must be submitted to the Office of the Village Clerk in person, by mail or by fax to 516-771-4127.
